gold bug island wedding | val & corby
Val and Corby’s Gold Bug Island wedding was spectacular. They had an incredibly sweet and fun ceremony, wonderful friends and family celebrating their big day, and of course each other to make the day official.
Val got ready at Corby’s parents’ home. Her future mother in law took care of her hair and make – up, her bridesmaids helped her get into her dress, and her beaming, momma helped button her up. Then she was off to see Corby for their first look. During this time Corby was getting ready at his sister’s home with his groomsmen. They drank bourbon, put their vests on, tied their ties, and naturally recreated their version of Captain Morgan in a boat. Then it was Corby’s turn to head to their Gold Bug Island wedding day.
Their ceremony was something spectacular. They asked a dear friend to officiate for them and she truly made it unique to Corby and Val. She had the most touching words and her own version of a unity ceremony a la Harry Potter style. For the record the fire did turn green. ; )
All day long you could not help but feel carefree and happy. I believe it is largely because of Val and Corby and who they are as people. While they have known each other for several years it wasn’t until a couple of years ago things went from a friendship to a relationship. You could see in all of their guests just how happy they were for these two, too. Val and Corby had found their match in each other.
We are so privileged that we call these amazing people friends, and they allowed us the opportunity to document their wedding day. Their day was beyond fun, and we wouldn’t have wanted to be anywhere else. <3
