My Monday rocked. It rocked because of the amazing wedding of Annie and Jason. I can only describe myself as lucky for having the opportunity to document Annie and Jason’s engagement and wedding. Annie + Jason’s Upstairs at Midtown wedding could not have reflected them more perfectly. You know your guests love you when they will subject themselves to triple digit heat and humidity for one photo!
Annie could not have been more beautiful in her tea-length wedding gown. The yellow heels she wore matched the pure joy of the day. Not only was the joy apparent but Annie also included elements of her family into the day. She pinned her great grandmother’s handkerchief into her wedding gown and her two sisters stood by her.
Jason, his family and groomsmen could not have been more hospitable or fun. These men were incredibly handsome in their gray suits, yellow sear sucker bowties, boots, and awesome socks. Jason, your socks were the best. You cannot exactly compete with super hero socks.
I loved that Annie + Jason included so much of their family in their wedding party and their ceremony. After the sweetest ceremony, in the cutest chapel on John’s Island, we were off to the Upstairs at Midtown. Annie + Jason searched for months for vintage glasses to top their tables, included family member photos from their wedding days, and vintage cameras as part of the decor.
Their reception was filled with so much happiness and laughter. (Maybe a couple of tears but only the happy ones.) I loved Annie’s sister’s toast. Taking a different approach she gave them a first fight box. Tonight they will write each other letters about today to keep in the box. So when that first fight happens, they can remember this amazing day. Jason’s brother also could not have had a more touching speech about his brother and welcoming Annie and her family into their family. From there it was on to dancing and visiting with one another.
Yesterday, was filled with so much joy for Annie + Jason. I know it is a sign that their life together will be full of the same joy from today. Congratulations to you both! I cannot thank you enough for allowing me to document this day.
