I am not sure where to start with Sarah and Josh. They reached out to me in the winter of this year to inquire about their July wedding. We were supposed to talk for only 20 or so minutes but I’m pretty sure we stretched to it 45! This was not too unlike when we first met. Since Sarah and Josh were a destination wedding we did not get the opportunity to do engagement photos. Our plan B was drinks at Blind Tiger. I knew I was going to love them. : )
Sarah and Josh are the type of people who are authentic, funny, and timeless. The way they interact with each other and their amazing friends and family that were to celebrate them was breath taking. All of this was transparent in the way Sarah’s hand effortlessly reached for Josh’s, the excitement and a little nerves they each had before the ceremony, the belly laughs and celebrating during the reception. It is these little things that summed up their wedding. Their friends and family could not have been more genuinely happy to celebrate their marriage.
Sarah and Josh know exactly who they are and their wedding completely reflected this. Their art deco, authentic, and timeless style, Sarah’s gown, borrowed earrings, and grandmother’s brooch on her bouquet could not have suited her more perfectly. This was matched with Josh’s linen jacket, fresh colored shirt and tie, and loafers. Together they exuded them. Two people happily and seamlessly in love.
Their Confederate Home & College wedding echoed more of this effortless love. Their close friend and Josh’s mentor officiating the wedding, their heartfelt vows to one another, the dances that made you laugh and cry, the speeches from family and friends. It was perfect.
Saturday night, was filled with so much pure happiness for Sarah and Josh. I feel so fortunate to have been a witness to it and it makes my heart burst that I know their life together will be full of the same pure joy and effortless love. Congratulations to you both! I cannot thank you enough for allowing me to photograph this amazing day.
