I have really been looking forward to meeting Megan and AJ in person. So much so by the time we met for their Charleston engagement session I immediately felt like I wasn’t meeting them but seeing friends again! Megan and AJ were so great. With a busy Charleston weekend ahead of them they granted me a little slice of time to document their sunrise engagement session. It could not have been more perfect morning.
I loved every moment of getting to know this authentic, funny, and sweet couple. Who knew that a friendly gathering would result in them meeting each other? To be more specific Megan and AJ met through one of their mutual friends as they were all headed out to a friend’s party after work. They hit it off immediately and now that mutual friend will be officiating their ceremony come September!
One of the things I noticed about Megan and AJ immediately was their ease with other and their thoughtfulness. You can tell they are incredibly in love but also each other’s best friends. When I learned about how AJ proposed it came as little shock to me as it just seemed to capture them perfectly. Knowing that Megan’s favorite spot in Charleston is the Dock Street Theatre AJ had planned on one of their trips to propose in front of the theatre. They had had a beautiful night getting dinner downtown at McCrady’s and were walking the streets of downtown when Megan knew they were close to the theatre and asked to walk by. Of course AJ obliged. Megan was looking up at the theatre as AJ commented about her good memories of the theatre. When Megan turned around to speak to AJ she found him down on one knee asking her if she wanted one more. I told you – thoughtful, kind, sweet, amazing people!
I am so excited to see Megan and AJ again in September for their Magnolia Plantation wedding. I know they will plan an amazing day that will be filled with their same spirits and that of their family and friends. I will be counting the days until I have the honor to document the start of their married lives.
