I wanted to share with you guys one of my favorite bakers, Ericka of Dulce. I met Ericka previously through a variety of events and I always stop by her truck or table. Not only is she an amazing baker, she’s so funny and we share pictures of our fur babies and I try to convince her she needs a teacup pig. : )
Ericka doesn’t just do weddings, she dazzles people with her sweet treats at a variety of events. From weddings, corporate events, local events, even if you want to order an awesome Easter pie or Mother’s Day cake! Her Instagram feed will have your sweet tooth working overtime in a matter of minutes. One of the things I love about Ericka’s setup is her dessert truck. You’re not limited to just seeing her treats at a wedding dessert bar. You might see her set up at a food truck rodeo, a buy local block party, or even Jailbreak! Anywhere you see her I promise, you’re in for amazing treats.
The second part I love about Dulce is you are not limited to just cakes but amazing cookies, bars, pies, cobblers, muffins, scones…oh the possibilities! Oh! Don’t forget to try some of her amazing teas too! Lemon lavender and strawberry Thai basil happen to be a couple of my favorite.
I got to spend Monday afternoon hanging out in Ericka’s kitchen “helping” her bake treats for her New Years Eve party. My helping was more just keeping her company and getting to eat cookie dough though. P.S. Her countertop literally sparkles…I’m so in love. I also got the pleasure to learn a little more about the woman inside the truck. I thought it was so cool that it was her husband, Mike, who encouraged her to take the plunge of opening her own business. Two and a half years later people easily know the big pink truck. Now, on to the amazing woman inside the truck!
What is your favorite dessert? Ericka – Tiramisu. I love to make it and eat it!
What is your favorite part of a wedding? Ericka – The father and daughter dance.
What is your favorite sweet trend you are seeing these days? Ericka – Macaroons! I love all the fun colors and creativity behind them. Turquoise, pink, yellow you name it – they’re beautiful and delicious!
What is one piece of advice you would give a bride and groom when they’re considering their wedding desserts? Ericka – Pick what you enjoy the most. Your wedding will be a crazy day with you guys running around everywhere but it’s your day and you should pick what represents you and what you like. Just sticking with that and you can be sure that everyone in attendance will also love your sweet treats.
If you could be any animal, what would it be? Ericka – One of my dogs! They are so pampered and loved so much. (Ericka has three of the cutest dogs: Clementine, Cecil, and Rayland)
If you are looking for someone to help you plan your treats for your wedding you have to talk to Ericka. Anything coming out of her kitchen is magical, melt in your mouth, amazingness. Proof: I got sent home with a box full of cookies…didn’t even make out it of her neighborhood before I was digging in!
